In July 2019, the Computer History Museum launched Power On: Decoding the Past, Igniting the Future, a comprehensive campaign to strengthen the Museum for the long term and expand how we collect, interpret, and share the history of computing and its impact on the world to inspire the next generation who will lead our future. Since then, an extraordinary community of supporters has come together to invest in CHM’s future – raising more than $100 million to advance the Museum’s mission and ensure its continued leadership at a pivotal moment in technological history.
As part of the campaign, generous supporters have also documented more than $20 million in future planned gift commitments, helping to build a sustainable institution that will serve generations to come.
Already, the impact of Power On is unmistakable. Gifts to the campaign are transforming how people around the world engage with the history of technology—opening the Museum’s unparalleled collection to global audiences online, creating new permanent and rotating galleries, and accelerating the digitization of some of the most important corporate and personal archives in computing history.

Honoring Bernard Goldstein’s Legacy
Campaign Committee member Partricia Goldstein supports CHM’s work to honor her husband, Bernard, whose mission was to create lasting change through technology. By supporting the Museum’s work, she wants to ensure he’s recognized not just as an entrepreneur but also because he wanted the community to benefit.
Supporting Long-Term Sustainability
CHM Trustee Chris Wanstrath understands that long-term sustainability is critical if the Museum is to continue to decode technology through exhibits, tours and demonstrations, free public programs, and online access to its collections for generations to come.
This listing recognizes the generosity of donors who made gifts to the Museum between July 1, 2019 and April 20, 2026. As part of the Power On campaign, all contributions during this period counted toward the campaign.
