Wayne Rosing

Former Engineering Director, Lisa Team, Apple Computer

Wayne Rosing was the engineering director of Apple Computer’s Lisa team. Originally with Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) and Data General in the 1970s, after leaving Apple he later worked for Sun Microsystems where he managed hardware development for products like the SPARCstation, then headed the spin-off First Person, which developed the Java Platform. Later, he served as CTO of Caere Corporation, developer of OCR software OmniPage. In 2001, Rosing joined Google, serving as a VP of engineering, before being appointed a senior fellow in mathematical and physical sciences at the University of California, Davis.  A longtime astronomy hobbyist, in 2005, Rosing founded Las Cumbres Observatory Global Telescope Network, serving as CEO and chief engineer at the firm
