Tom is a member of the research staff and master Inventor who explores the frontiers of human-computer interaction at IBM Research--Almaden. He holds over 40 patents that cover position tracking, user input, wireless communication, biometrics and encryption. He is interested in signal processing, machine learning, human/data interaction and visualization. Currently he is working on modeling human personality and interaction based on mining social media. He also has a passion for STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math), special needs education and monitoring sea turtles.
