Dr. Stephen Palm is a pioneer in the connected home – designing new ways for home and mobile devices to connect, share information and deliver new services like home automation, security and health monitoring. One exciting area is “presence to personalize” – this is what happens when a TV has the ability to detect individuals in a room and personalize content choices and preferences.
Dr. Palm leads and contributes to multiple technical committees including Wi-Fi and High Speed Internet technologies. He has invented over 40 patents.
Dr. Palm
studied Electrical Engineering at the UC Irvine, studied more Electrical and Computer Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburg and became a doctor of engineering at the University of Tokyo in Japan. He speaks fluent Japanese.
