Sharon Dugdale

Formerly a teacher of mathematics in Michigan and Illinois, Sharon Dugdale joined the PLATO courseware development team at the University of Illinois in 1972. She served as PI on several development grants and designed mathematics courseware for various audiences. In 1990, she relocated to UC Davis, where as Professor of Education she pursued research interests in teaching and learning of mathematics, and the impact of technology on mathematical content, teaching methods, and learning strategies. She provided leadership to a wide range of academic programs, including service as Chair of the Ph.D. Program in Education and as the Associate Dean of Education. She retired from UC Davis in 2008.
