Ghanaian born performer/composer/educator, Pope Flyne is an adjunct professor at Saint Mary’s College in Moraga. He helped bring the genre of highlife music to new heights with his legendary Sweet Talks band of Ghana. His band has performed in prestigious venues in Europe, Asia, South America, North America and Africa. Pope Flyne came to California as a Ghanaian Cultural ambassador and for over three decades has shared his joyful spirit and vast knowledge of African folk music, dancing and percussion with a generation of American audiences. He continues to perform and teach African drumming and dance in the Bay Area.
