David Alan Grier

David Alan Grier is a long-term writer for the IEEE Computer Society and is a Fellow of the IEEE. He has served as an EIC and a senior officer for the society. He is the author of books such as When Computers Were Human (Princeton 2005) and Too Soon to Tell (Wiley-IEEE Computer Society 2009). He is currently an associate professor of International Science and Technology Policy at the George Washington University, where he has taught policy, programming, mathematics, and -- occasionally -- composition.
