Dan'l Lewin

Former Market Development Manager, Lisa Division, Apple Computer; President & CEO, Computer History Museum

Long before he was CHM’s President and CEO, Dan’l Lewin was recruited by Steve Jobs to Apple Computer to do the market and channel development work for the Lisa, as market development manager for the Personal Office Systems Division (POSD). This led him to also define the distribution and market development model for the Macintosh launch to higher education.

Dan’l Lewin directs the strategic planning, fundraising, and ongoing operations of CHM. Prior to the Museum, Lewin led Microsoft’s work in applying technology for public good. During a 17-year tenure, he collaborated cross-company and with external partners and focused on scalable impact within a portfolio spanning campaign and civic technologies, affordable internet access, environmental sustainability, and collaboration with leading research universities. Lewin has 30-plus years of leadership experience in Silicon Valley with companies that include NeXT, Apple, Go Corporation, and Sony. Before joining Microsoft in 2001, he was CEO of Aurigin Systems, a company that pioneered the market for intellectual property asset management.
