Charles House

Founder and Executive Director, InnovaScapes Institute

Charles House, Executive Director of InnovaScapes Institute, was previously Chancellor at Cogswell Polytechnic College, and Executive Director, Media X, at Stanford University. Formerly, he was director of Intel’s Virtual Collaboratory and also director of Societal Impact of Technology for Intel Corporation. He spent 29 years at Hewlett-Packard in a variety of management and technical roles, including five years as corporate engineering director, and he also was with Informix, Veritas, and Dialogic corporations. 

House is a past president of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), is an ACM Fellow and an IEEE Fellow. House is coauthor of The HP Phenomenon: Innovation  and Business Transformation,and Permission Denied: Odyssey of an Intrapreneur. He is also author of Preserving Our Digital Revolution Heritage: If Not You, Who?  If Not Now, When?

House has a B.S. in engineering physics from the California Institute of Technology; an M.S.E.E. from Stanford University; an M.A. in the history of science from the University of Colorado and an M.B.A. (Strategic Studies) from Western Behavioral Sciences Institute (now the University of California,San Diego).  He also holds an honorary PhD from Cogswell College in Digital Arts.
