Carina Cheng is a PhD student in the University of California, Berkeley Astronomy Department. She studies the very early universe when the first stars and galaxies formed, using data taken by radio telescopes in South Africa. In her free time, Carina enjoys teaching, outreach, good food, and traveling. She was recommended for the Science Envoy program by University of California, Berkeley astronomer Alex Filippenko.
