Audrey Plonk

Global Security & Internet Policy Specialist, Security & Privacy Policy Team, Intel Corporation

Audrey Plonk joined Intel Corporation as a Global Security and Internet Policy Specialist in September 2008 and is a member of Intel’s Security and Privacy Policy team. In this capacity, Audrey leads Intel’s global policy efforts on security policy topics such as cybersecurity, critical infrastructure protection and encryption and she works with the team to integrate both privacy and security into the product development process. Audrey also focuses on Internet policy issues such as Internet Governance.

From 2003 - 2006 Audrey worked as a consultant for the Department of Homeland Security's National Cyber Security Division where she initially covered a range of topics including software assurance, R&D, and standards. However, she spent the majority of her time at NCSD in their international affairs division working on international security policy issues in multilateral and regional organizations as well as bilaterally with key countries.

While serving as a U.S. delegate to the Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), Audrey worked closely with the Working Party on Information Security and Privacy (WPISP). At the end of 2006, she moved to Paris to accept a job at the OECD Secretariat focusing on security issues for the WPISP. While at the OECD she was the primary author of a report on malicious software and the co-author of a series of comparative policy analyses of critical information infrastructure protection as well as a recommendation to the OECD Council. She also served as liaison to the APEC TEL, the ITU, and the IGF - where she held an Open Forum on Malware in 2007.

Upon returning to the U.S. in early 2008, Audrey worked as an independent consultant to the Information Technology Association of America (now TechAmerica) covering for the Vice President of Information Security and Global Public Policy. Audrey attended The George Washington University in Washington, DC and received her BA in International Affairs with a focus on the EU and minors in French and Dance. She is fluent in French.
