Educator Workshop Virtual Event

Get Ready to Build!

Minecraft Education Edition World

Help your students learn and have fun in The Great Tech Story, the Computer History Museum’s world in Minecraft: Education Edition!

CHM is launching two new build challenges in 2022. On May 2, “FunTech Summer” will prompt students ages 8–18 to design a summer experience that uses technology to make it fun and accessible to all. On September 6, "My Future School" will launch and engage students in designing the ideal school that helps every student and educator succeed.

Join CHM Director of Education Kate McGregor in an interactive workshop to learn more about how to incorporate The Great Tech Story and the build challenges into your curriculum. Students will practice skills of collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity to build their capacity as active problem-solvers, digital citizens, and future innovators.

What You Will Learn

  • How to navigate The Great Tech Story and engage with artifacts and key figures from computing in the past and present.
  • The tech topics and issues in the game’s immersive learning experiences, including ethics in tech, tech in daily life, the innovation process, and core concepts of hardware and software.
  • Tips and free resources to help your students become informed technology citizens.

This event is part of a series of workshops. See our previous workshop: Teach & Learn in “The Great Tech Story.”
