With all the time and money consumers spend on the Internet, what are the best ways to protect personal information on our computers, and when we make purchases and conduct transactions on-line?  What are the top three on-line threats to watch out for?  Who will protect us if our personal information is used

Hear from a panel of experts from the FTC, Microsoft, PayPal/eBay and Symantec as they discuss these issues with Internet safety advocate and technology columnist, Larry Magid, on how to best protect ourselves on the Internet.

“There are plenty of tools to help protect you in cyberspace but, at the end of the day, the best protection is an educated public that knows how to use the tools, how to avoid dangerous practices and how to apply critical thinking and commonsense to protect themselves against online threats,” said Mr. Magid, CBS News on-air technology analyst.

This event will offer advice on how to identify and guard yourself and your family from attacks and vulnerabilities so you can surf, shop and socialize safely.

This program is presented by the Commonwealth Club Silicon Valley and the Computer History Museum and is underwritten by Microsoft.
