Alvaro Prieto was born and raised in Mexico City. He moved to Miami at the age of 12. When he was 18, he attended the Rochester Institute of Technology, studying Electrical Engineering. During his time there he also studied abroad in Russia and worked in Switzerland and Finland through the co-op/internship program. Alvaro started working at Texas Instruments in 2011. He then moved to the Bay Area in 2012 and worked for Apple. In 2015 he started working at Planet Labs, although soon he will be starting a new independent adventure! He is an electrical engineer and in his free time he enjoys electronics, watching movies, flying, photography (time-lapse and high-speed), and traveling.
