25 Years of Hennessy and Patterson

Separately, the work of John Hennessy and David Patterson has yielded direct, major impacts on the computing industry. John started the MIPS RISC project at Stanford, cofounded MIPS Computer Systems, and directed the DASH project. David drove the Berkeley RISC project, led the RAID effort, and participated in the NOW project that led to clustering technology.
