Position Summary

The Computer History Museum is looking for a Museum Services Associate to deliver outstanding visitor service as part of our Front of House team. The ideal candidate is responsible for ensuring that visitors have a positive, enjoyable experience and leave with a greater understanding and appreciation of the Museum and its offerings. Their primary responsibilities include selling museum tickets, providing assistance and information to Museum visitors, front desk reception, and monitoring museum appearance. Responsibilities

  • Greet visitors and provide them with excellent service in a friendly and helpful manner. This may include answering questions, resolving issues, and maintaining a welcoming and inclusive environment.
  • Effectively operate ticketing and sales systems in accordance with the Museum’s standard operating procedures.
  • Assist guests with coat/baggage check, lost/found, and ADA compliance requests.
  • Communicate the Museum's mission, history, current exhibits, and programs to visitors to ensure they have the information they need for a positive and memorable experience.
  • Effectively communicate ticketing and membership benefits and pricing structure to visitors.
  • Provide accurate and timely customer information via friendly, engaging phone support.
  • Maintain the highest standards in the visual appearance, cleanliness, and functionality of museum spaces.
  • Handle various administrative tasks, such as data entry, filing, and supplies.
  • Communicate resource requirements, issues, and priorities to direct supervisor.
  • Assist the museum store as needed with pricing, restocking, customer service and inventory counts.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Customer-focused and team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in retail, customer service or another similar role is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and communication skills.
  • Understanding of basic Point-of-Sale (POS) Systems, including credit card processing.
  • Ability to multitask and be flexible in a dynamic and changing environment.
  • Basic data entry skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time (up to 8 hours).
  • High school degree or equivalent.

Salary: $22 per hour
