Richard Gingras is Google’s vice president of news, responsible for advising Google’s strategy for surfacing news content across its products as well as efforts to enable a healthy, open ecosystem for quality journalism and on matters of public policy. Previously a member of the Knight Commission on Trust, Media, and Democracy, he served as CEO of Salon Media Group and is a veteran of media and tech companies, such as NBC, PBS, Apple, Mediaworks, Symantec, and Goodmail. He is a board member of the International Center for Journalists, Harvard's Shorenstein Center on the Press, Politics, and Public Policy, and The First Amendment Coalition.
