Jeremy M. Weinstein leads Stanford Impact Labs, a major university initiative that partners research teams with leaders in the public, private, and social sectors to tackle important social problems. Prior to joining Stanford as a professor of political science in 2015, he served as US Ambassador to the United Nations Samantha Powers’ chief of staff and deputy.
With expertise in US foreign policy and domestic politics, Weinstein served as a key staffer in the White House under the Obama administration, beginning in 2009. There, he foresaw how new technologies might remake the relationship between governments and citizens and launched Obama’s Open Government Partnership. Weinstein is a prizewinning author and a decorated teacher.
