Dave is a widely recognized information security professional with deep experience in both product management and consulting. Dave brings 14+ years of information security experience to Symantec’s Consumer team where he leads product management for Norton product line, including Norton Internet Security & Norton 360. He is a frequent spokesperson for the organization on security and safety trends and has been quoted in publications such as the New York Times, USA Today, and Wall Street Journal.
Prior to working at Symantec, Cole held numerous senior positions within market leading organizations such as Deloitte & Touche and several information security technology companies. Dave's design work in the areas of threat and vulnerability management has been submitted for US patents at both Symantec and former employers.
Dave has been a featured speaker at a number of conferences such as Interop, Black Hat, WebSec, ASIS and many others. Dave is a contributing author in the book Special Ops: Host and Network Security for Microsoft, UNIX, and Oracle, as well as “Crimeware: Understanding New Attacks and Defenses” (released in 2008).
