Anushah Hossain is a historian of the internet and research director of the Script Encoding Initiative (SEI) at the University of California, Berkeley, where she oversees proposals for the inclusion of historic and modern minority scripts in Unicode. She was inspired to get directly involved with the standardization process after years of researching the history of Indic script encoding and the inner workings of the Unicode Standard. She is currently writing a pre-history of the Unicode Standard.
