Tech Titans Battle Poker Pros at the Computer History Museum

Mountain View, California  |  March 01, 2013

The Computer History Museum, the world’s leading institution exploring the history of computing and its impact on society, announced that it will host the 2013 Silicon Valley Poker Challenge, a tournament put together by the Silicon Valley Executive network (SVEN) and the WPT Foundation.

The Poker Challenge, a prelude to the WPT Shooting Star tour event in San Jose the week of March 4, creates a unique gathering of elite poker professionals and tech giants of the valley, consisting of senior level high tech executives, venture capitalists and entrepreneurs, all playing Hold Em poker for bragging rights for the year.

Organized by Brian Reynard, CEO and founder of SVEN, this annual event raises money for charity, with over $50,000 raised since the tournament began in 2011.  This year the event will be on Sunday, March 3 from 3 pm to 9 pm, with all proceeds donated to the Computer History Museum.

“We are delighted to be chosen as host for this year’s Poker Challenge.  There probably isn’t a institution and venue that represents Silicon Valley better than the Computer History Museum,” said Museum’s Vice President of Operations, Gary Matsushita.

Highlights of the charity tournament will be aired by the WPT in broadcasts of the Shooting Star event in three parts on June 30, July 7 and July 14 on CSN Bay Area.
