Mountain View - The Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) will host the Bay Area Regional Spring Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge finals for area students on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at the Computer History Museum.
Four young entrepreneurs who have won school-based competitions will present and defend their business plans before a prestigious panel of judges and an audience of top business and school leaders.
The presenting students are from Silver Creek High School (San Jose), Oak Grove High School (San Jose), Balboa High School (San Francisco) and Hayward High School (Hayward).
Judges include: Steve Goldberg, Partner at Venrock; Kelly Hunsaker, Principal at Fish and Richardson; and Mauricio Simbeck, CEO at Milagros de México.
Each finalist has completed the NFTE in-school entrepreneurship curriculum and is competing for seed capital investment prizes of up to $1,500. The winner will also receive a competition entry in the NFTE National Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge in October which will, for the first time, take place in the Bay Area – at the Computer History Museum.
At the finals, NFTE and the Computer History Museum will also announce a programmatic partnership to reach more young people and continue integrating technology into the student experience.
