The IBM 2314 direct access storage facility, which stores computer information on magnetic disks in eight separate "sliding drawers" compartments, will be demonstrated publicly for the first time at the 1966 Fall Joint Computer Conference, November 8-10 in San Francisco. The machine, which can store up to 414-milion digits of information, will be linked to an IBM System/360 Model 50.
