Group Tours & Self-Guided Visits for K−12 Students

Docent-Led Tours

Docent-led tours provide an interactive view of our permanent exhibition, Revolution: The First 2000 Years of Computing. Trained docents help students look deeply and explore ongoing relationships between the past, present, and future of technological innovation.

Days & Times: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, 11 a.m.–12 p.m.
Duration: Approximately 45 minutes
Students: For groups of 10 to 30 students (contact us for larger groups)
Chaperones: At least two adults over the age of 18 per 15 students
Reservations: Required 8 weeks in advance
Changes: Must be received 5 days in advance (including changes to group size)
Cancellations: Must be received 2 weeks in advance to receive refunds

Self-Guided Visits

All exhibitions and demonstrations are open to self-guided groups. Instructors and group leaders are encouraged to design activities and resources that connect the Museum’s exhibits and resources to their classroom curriculum.

Days & Times: Wednesday-Sunday, beginning at 10 a.m.
Duration: Approximately 2.5 hours (for all exhibits)
Participants: For groups of 10 to 60 (contact us for larger groups)
Chaperones: At least two adults over the age of 18 per 15 students
Language: English
Reservations: Required 2 weeks in advance
Changes: Must be received 5 days in advance (including changes to group size)

Chaperones

K–12 groups must arrive with at least two adult chaperones over the age of 18 per 15 students. The Museum may, at its discretion, postpone or cancel visits for groups that arrive without adequate adult supervision.

Well-prepared chaperones are an essential part of a successful visit. Please ensure that all adults in your group are familiar with our Chaperone Guidelines before arriving at the Museum. Guidelines are also available in Spanish.

Reservation Changes and Cancellations

All changes to your group reservation must be received at least five days in advance, including changes to your group size. Cancellations must be received at least two weeks in advance for prepayments to be refunded. Contact us to change or cancel your Group Reservation.

Directions and Parking

Individual cars may park in CHM’s front lot. Bus parking is available in the side lots. If no space is available, buses should park on the access road in areas that are not painted red.
